The Reunion was wonderful and Lyla and Karen and committees did a fabulous job! It was great to see everyone, but we felt like we didn;t get a chance to talk to everyone we wanted to as much as we wanted to! We're looking forward to the next one!Mayba we could invite Norm Robbins to the next one--you know, our Young Life leader?! Please pray for his wife Patty who has liver cancer. God bless!

What a great reunion weekend this was!! We probably had over 200 alumni attend at least one of the three day event! Be sure to check the web page regularly. Pictures from the Grand Weekend will be added soon! This site was developed by Peg Bogan Swanson, so contact her at: SwanPeg@aol.com if you have any problems with pulling up the page, problems linking to the other pages or even suggestions for future pages! Ain't this technology wonderful?!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was certainly WONDERFUL seeing all of you who were able to attend the Grand Reunion 2000. I have NEVER had so many kudos as I rec'd this past weekend! It was a labor of love for many of us. Please try to come to the next one! July 2004!!! Stay in touch!!

Sorry I can't make it to the reunion this year, I was anxious to see if the upper-classmen are still as obnoxious as they were then...JUST KIDDING! Hope to make it next time. Always happy to get email. -David (class of 1967-survivor)

Thanks for the Website, Guest Book, and Reunion Plans. Found this whole thing quite interesting! Just filled in my bio on the site, and much enjoyed reading the others. Trying to change previously scheduled business trip plans and flights the week of 7-24 to permit, perhaps, quick stopover at Reunion either Friday night or Sat night at the Reunion events. If I can't, I'm sure all will enjoy the time, anyway!

Really haven't had much time to frequently stay tuned. Each time I look in to see "whasssss up" I find more "oldies" signing in. Everyone on the committee has been doing a sooooppper job of staying in touch and spreading the word. I'm looking forward to seeing you all! Jeff Cushing, Bob Howell and Lane Tietgen. Still have some notes just waiting to be sung? Until then....

Mrs Carolyn Dahl JonesThursday, 6/29/00, 12:56 PM

My mother, Carolyn Dahl Jones, was a Social Sciences teacher from 1962-1982. Some of you may be unaware that she passed away May 9th of last year (1999) from complications following open heart surgery. She was in California visiting nephews and nieces when she suffered a heart attack. She had recently celebrated her 80th birthday at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor where she had lived for about 2 years. For those of you who knew her, I'm sure you'll remember "IALAC," her hugs, her zest for life and learning, and her unconditional love for her students. She often said that her 20 years at Washburn Rural were the happiest years of her life! Mom attended many reunions through the years and this Grand Reunion 2000 would have been especially exciting for her. I'm sure she'll be there in spirit. Sincerely, Kristine Jones Erb.

My early years at Rural were the best. It is a real joy to hear from so many of you. I was your Art and Humanities teacher in the '60's, and became the Principal of Rural from 1971-75. I then served in other schools, including Auburn and Pauline South, in the district, finishing my career at the new Jay Shideler Elementary School from 1990 to 1998. It is a GREAT school, recieving national attention. I was named Kansas Principal OF The Year, 1998-99. I hope I can make it to your reunion, but I know now that I have a conflict. We will see what I can do about that ! Let me hear from you.

Another brat that had to depart her senior year for Washington, DC--but WRHS remained in my heart !!! Retired 3 years ago after 21 years in the Air Force, Lt Col, Personnel career field. Wonderful exciting career. Now director of a military transition workshop, where I return to a requested military base to assist retiring military personnel with their transition to a successful civilian work and lifestyle. Great fun and reward !!!

Hello everyone! Hope to see all of you at the reunion 2000! Lots of stories to tell and lots of people to reconnect with! Had a pretty good last few years here in the Mattison house- found my real family and three half brothers that I did not know exsisted after 54 years of looking. THAT WAS COOL! Refound good old friends from high school. THAT WAS REAL COOL! Going to the 2000 reunoin. THAT IS GOING TO BE BIG TIME COOL!

I would have graduated in 1965 from WRHS but the Air Force "brat" thing kicked in and I first went to Knob Knoster, MO (yes, there really is such a place) and then eventually graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California. What a great way to celebrate 2000! Looking forward to seeing everybody I remember and those I don't, but will!
