Karen Irwin made me aware of the website, thank you Karen...and the memories flow. However, I do not have that many. I only attended Washburn Rural for a short time way back in the early 60's. I remember a few things. Remember being in Ms. Jones' Spanish class where I got caught repeatedly chewing gum, and where I actually aced a Spanish final (was my last act at Washburn before departing for Kemper Military School). I never knew what she thought, but I figured she must have been astounded or just pretty proud to have been able to teach something to such a poor student like me! Remember playing basketball (very average) and ping pong (pretty good) in the gym. Remember our fine football and basketball squads. Remember my buddies. Remember all the fine girls like Gail Heather and Karen Heath, and I did absolutely nothing about them! I am delighted to see people keeping track of each other here - most of us were in Air Force families, moving frequently, pulling apart, plus add 40 some odd years of life. As youngsters back at Washburn Rural it was mainly hopes and dreams, and now memories are such a big part of the mix.
